Air quality
Korea's spring “yellow dust” and winter inversions push PM2.5 well above WHO guidelines. We pull data from Air Korea when available; otherwise we show a curated baseline.
Air quality
—How to read PM2.5 (μg/m³)
- • 0–15: Good. WHO daily safe limit.
- • 16–35: Moderate. Sensitive groups should limit prolonged outdoor exertion.
- • 36–75: Unhealthy. Wear KF94 outdoors.
- • 76+: Hazardous. Stay indoors with HEPA / air purifier.
Masks in Korea
- • KF80: blocks ≥80% of 0.6μm particles — daily wear.
- • KF94 / KF99: blocks ≥94% / ≥99% — bad-air days, virus seasons.
- • Available at every convenience store (₩1,500–3,500).
When to call it indoors
If PM2.5 > 75 and PM10 > 150, swap the day’s outdoor sights for museums, jjimjilbangs or department stores.
