Haeundae Beach

해운대해수욕장

Why go

The beach most people think of first when they think of Busan. The sand runs 1.5km, the water averages 1m deep, and the waves are gentle. In summer it draws the biggest crowds in the country, and it is popular with international travellers too.

Highlights

History

Towers and hotels line the shore, so it is busy in every season, not only summer. It hosts a moon-greeting festival on the first full moon of the lunar year and the Polar Bear Swimming Contest in winter, and in May–June the Sand Festival and in July the Busan Sea Festival fill the beach.
