Highlights

History

HiKR Ground opened on July 22, 2022, in the Korea Tourism Organization's Seoul Center. The space, until then the K-Style Hub tourism promotion hall, was renovated over more than 1 year. The name joins Hi, the warm greeting Korea (KR) offers travelers, with Ground, meaning playground.

In December 2023, about 1 and a half years after it opened, its total visitor count passed 1,000,000. The Korea Tourism Organization said an average of 2,500 people come each day.

Each floor, from the 1st to the 5th, has a different theme. The 1st floor has a giant media wall, the 2nd floor K-pop experiences, the 3rd floor an exhibition on Korean back-alley culture and the 4th floor special exhibitions on regional travel; the 5th floor has the Tourist Information Center, a lounge overlooking Cheonggyecheon stream and a cafe. The 3rd and 4th floors are linked by HiKR Tower, a large vertical media installation.
