Pickup: Imjingak (Paju) — you get there yourself

Book: Book online at dmz.paju.go.kr (only part of each departure's seats are sold online) or buy at the Imjingak ticket office. Either way, tickets are issued at Imjingak 09:00–14:30, only once your whole group is there, and they often sell out early.

The official city-run course. Bring your passport (or alien registration card) — no ID, no entry; copies, screenshots and expired passports are refused. Closed Mondays, weekday public holidays and Seollal/Chuseok day.

As of 2026-09-25 the official Panmunjom tour takes South Korean citizens only. Treat any "JSA tour" sold to foreigners as unconfirmed unless the operator can show written approval.

3rd Infiltration Tunnel

제3땅굴
In most tours

Infiltration tunnel found in 1978, 73 m underground and 1.6 km south of the demarcation line. Of its 1,635 m, the last 265 m is open to visitors — on foot or by monorail.

Highlight: Monorail ticket costs more than walking (₩12,200 vs ₩9,200 adult). The monorail runs on only some departures, and if it breaks down the tour switches to walking.

Dora Observatory

Unification Village

Civilian village inside the controlled zone, the last stop on the Paju City course; its shop sells local farm produce and DMZ souvenirs.

Highlight: The whole shuttle course takes about 3 hours.

Rules that catch foreigners

  • Passport is mandatoryPaju City will not let you in without ID. Foreigners: passport, alien registration card or US-military ID. A photo, copy or expired passport is not accepted.
  • Closed Mondays + holidaysThe Paju DMZ Peace Tour is closed every Monday, on weekday public holidays, and on Seollal and Chuseok day.
  • Tickets are issued at ImjingakYou can book online or buy on site, but every ticket — online bookings included — is issued at the Imjingak office 09:00–14:30, only after your whole group has arrived. On-site seats often sell out early, so arrive in the morning or book ahead.
  • It can be cancelled at short noticePaju City says every schedule can be halted for security threats in the DMZ, bad weather or safety reasons.
  • Panmunjom (JSA) is closed to foreignersThe Ministry of Unification tour accepts South Korean citizens only — "groups and foreigners cannot apply".
