Why go

Incheon Chinatown is the ethnic Chinese quarter that grew up with the opening of Incheon Port in 1883. You can try foods such as jjajangmyeon, hollow bread and mooncakes, and walk the streets hung with red lanterns, all in one visit.

Highlights

History

Incheon Chinatown took shape after Incheon Port opened in 1883. The next year, in 1884, the area was designated an extraterritorial zone of Qing China. Ethnic Chinese who came over to trade made their homes here.

In the past, most of the shops sold goods brought in from China. Today Chinese restaurants fill most of the street. The ethnic Chinese who keep this street going are the 2nd and 3rd generations of the first settlers.
