Getting around

Transport in Korea runs on one card. A T-money card costs ₩3,000–4,000 at any convenience store and covers subway, bus and most taxis; the base subway fare is ₩1,550 for the first 10 km. Two things catch visitors out. Since 7 March 2026, forgetting to tap out at the exit adds a full base fare to your next ride. And Kakao T, which holds over 90% of Seoul taxis, needs a Korean phone number for its SMS sign-up — Uber is fully English in-app if you would rather skip that. From Incheon, check your terminal before anything else: T2 is Korean Air, Delta, KLM and Air France, T1 is everyone else.
