Timing decides a Korean shopping day more than the destination does. Opening hours differ street by street: in Dongdaemun, Doota runs from 10:30 to midnight while Migliore stays open until 02:00 but closes on Mondays, and a weekend afternoon anywhere means queues. Olive Young names its own tourist-district stores, in Myeongdong, Hongdae and Seongsu, where the largest branch spreads over five floors. Keep your passport with you: registered tax-free shops refund VAT on purchases of ₩15,000 or more, and since 2024 an instant refund at the till covers purchases under ₩1,000,000 each, up to ₩5,000,000 per stay, so most visitors never queue for it at the airport.
